Campervan rental insurance and deposit in the Canary Islands
Insurance, excess and deposit terms can vary by vehicle and booking. Use the contract and price breakdown for your dates.

Check which contract and rental arrangement apply
Before comparing cover, check who is named as the lessor in your booking contract. In self-managed rentals, the contract names the vehicle owner and traveller as the parties. For vehicles accepted into Vaneando’s full-management service, Vaneando signs as the lessor. Terms and procedures can therefore differ.
The booking summary and contract should identify the applicable cover, deposit and process for damage claims. Read the documents for your vehicle and dates; do not assume the terms from another booking also apply to yours.
Find out what is covered and excluded
Look for the name of the coverage provider, limits, exclusions and driver requirements. Check whether the documents explain glass, tyres, underbody, roof, interior, roadside assistance and travel outside the island. The booking terms should answer these questions, or the responsible party should confirm them before you pay.
Do not treat “insurance included” as unlimited protection, or assume that a particular road, ferry or use is allowed. Describe any special plans and ask for written confirmation before booking.
Understand the excess and the deposit separately
Check whether an excess applies, how much it is and when it may be charged. Review the deposit separately: how much you pay, who holds it, when it is returned and what happens if there is a claim. An insurance excess and a deposit are different amounts; check how the contract connects them for your booking.
Keep a copy of the price summary and terms before confirming. If the policy allows a deduction or retention, check what evidence is required, how the reason is communicated and where you can request a review.
Separate management fees from insurance and the deposit
In Vaneando’s price breakdown, management fees form part of the booking total. That line alone does not identify an insurance policy or show which damage is covered. The applicable cover and its provider should be stated in the contract for your booking.
The deposit is shown separately from the booking total. Check its amount, who manages it and the procedure for returning it or justifying a deduction. Vaneando’s terms and pricing guide explain the items shown in the booking.
Document the handover and return
At pick-up, check the interior and exterior, inventory, accessories and any vehicle readings that apply. Take clear photos from several angles and make sure the handover record reflects what you checked. Keep a copy of the contract and roadside assistance instructions.
At return, repeat the check and report any issue through the channel stated in your booking. Follow the booking’s process before authorising repairs or costs, except where emergency instructions say otherwise. Keep messages, photos and receipts related to the case.

Frequently asked questions
Do Vaneando’s management fees include insurance?
The management-fee line does not identify an insurance policy on its own. The cover that applies and its provider should be stated in your booking contract.
Is the deposit included in the rental total?
Vaneando shows the deposit separately from the booking total. Check your contract for who manages it, how it is returned and how a deduction would be justified.
Is insurance the same for every campervan?
Do not assume so. Check the cover, limits, exclusions, authorised drivers and assistance terms for your vehicle and travel dates.
